About me

Alexa Redner has been practicing mindfulness mediation intensively since 2004. She is a graduate of the Dedicated Practitioners Program at Spirit Rock and holds a BA in Visual Arts and MA in Creation Spirituality from Naropa University. Alexa has divided her professional life between being a Waldorf Early Childhood teacher, a lead teacher for Mindful Schools, as well as an eating disorders and “body positive” educator. In addition to her connection to Insight meditation practice, Alexa is also a Ram Dass devotee, and practices the art of writing inquiry as offered by writer and Zen teacher Natalie Goldberg. Alexa emphasizes using mindfulness as a tool to discover love, kindness, and acceptance for our bodies and minds. Alexa’s group style is both structured and relaxed with a tone of humor and light-heartedness. When not teaching meditation, Alexa is can be found running long distances in the Pacific Northwest, hiking mountains, in her fiber art studio. She lives in Portland Oregon with her husband and 8 year old son.

I love working with

people who are committed to waking up and opening up. One of my favorite ways to spend my time is listen to people share their stories of their lives, what they are learning, and how they are using each moment and interaction as a means to deepen insight and open in love.
